This site is a tribute to Jenny Compton-Bishop, who was born on August 25, 1946. After a short battle with Motor Neurone Disease and Dementia, Jenny passed away peacefully at home on July 13th, 2021. She will be missed by friends and family around the globe.
Jenny was cremated in a no nonsense ceremony (as were her wishes) and will be remembered through tributes on this page, a memorial ceremony later in the summer on Jura, through the scattering of her ashes near her childhood home and of course in our thoughts and the stories we share.
We've written a short piece about Jenny in the journal section of this site. We would love to hear how you remember Jenny and welcome your contributions through this page. We are also using this page to collect donations to MND. Some other charities Jenny supported were Age UK, Amnesty International, WWF, Shelter and Alzheimers Scotland.
In memory of Jenny whose company was always enjoyed when she dropped by, on her way, when visiting Islay; or when she helped organise things on Jura for the book festival. Much missed x
Thinking of you, Sarah, Keith and your wonderful family. RIP Jenny, harder to find a more caring and compassionate person 🙏 Joëlle & Muriel xxx
